Opt-in
Opt-in refers to the process by which individuals voluntarily agree to receive communications from a business, such as newsletters, promotional offers, or updates. Opt-in usually happens when visitors provide their contact information (e.g., email or phone number) through a form on a website.
There are two types of opt-ins: single opt-in, where a user signs up with one action, and double opt-in, where they confirm their subscription via a follow-up email. Opt-in leads are valuable because they have already shown interest in the business, making them more receptive to future marketing efforts. Complying with privacy regulations, such as GDPR, often requires explicit opt-in consent.
